Daddy’s Song

You'll never know as you lie there asleep, How often I enter to kiss your cheek, And whisper so quietly in your ear, "Daddy still Loves you, and I'll always be here." I then stroke your hair, and hold gently your hand, My intention's to comfort, the best that I can. I'll know never for sure, if this influenced you, Which is exactly why, I must do what I do. Thus this ritual continues, as long as there's hope, That we will grow closer, through each kiss and each stroke. I then steal away, back into the dark, With you each never knowing, in what you took part. Yet my hope is that someday, after I am long gone, Once again in your dreams, you will hear Daddy's Song.
